Diving in Malaysia
Malaysia is an extraordinary and highly accessible diving paradise. It is one of the few destinations where you can combine big fish and macro just fine, which is why it is one of the top destinations in the diving world for a reason.
- Lots of big fish
- Visit the rainforest
- Fantastic coral reefs
- Keep in mind the monsoon!
Malaysia is a country of vast extremes. Modern metropolises and mighty rainforests, indigenous tribes and the skyline of Kuala Lumpur, fantastic coral reefs and vast forests, big fish and macro, extraordinary luxury and pure simplicity. Malaysia stands with one leg in an ancient past and one leg in the modern world. The people there are extremely friendly and are known for their fantastic cuisine. We have a wide range of destinations in Malaysia. Of course, special diving opportunities, but also an extensive program of tours. Go in search of the orangutans, visit the Iban people, stay overnight in traditional longhouses and cruise the rivers by longboat.

Diving at Layang Layang
Layang Layang, an atoll located in the South China Sea off the coast of Sabah in Malaysia, offers a unique diving experience with an isolated and pristine underwater world featuring manta rays, sharks and other pelagic species that thrive in the strong currents of the open ocean; however, diving at Layang Layang is especially suitable for experienced divers due to the sometimes challenging conditions and remote location, but the rewards are worth it for those who make the trip.
Diving season Malaysia
For mainland Malaysia, bordering Thailand, the best period is from late March to mid-October.In our winter months, even everything there is at a standstill because of the monsoon. Off the east coast of Malaysia, bordering Borneo, diving schools are increasingly open year-round. The best period on this side is also late March to mid-October.
