Diving Holiday Thailand - Information
Thailand is known as the land of smiles. That reputation will surely also come because you come up with a big smile after every dive. Moreover, if you go diving in Thailand, you have a good chance of seeing manta rays and whale sharks. Therefore, go diving in Thailand!
- Similan islands
- Leopard Shark
- Underwater caves
- Great atmosphere!
Diving around the Similan Islands
If you want the best diving in Thailand you will have to go to the Similan Islands. The Similan Islands are a group of 9 islands a short boat ride from Phuket.
The Similan Islands are a national park of Thailand. Diving here is therefore done in healthy coral reefs full of fish, swaying gorgonians and large variety of fish. The dives you make here are along large boulders me all sorts of openings and passages to explore. The leopard shark is sure to be encountered here during the dives as well as schools of batfish and the curious Napoleon perch. Visibility is crisp.
Scattered around the Similan are about 20 dive sites.
Diving around Phuket
Diving in Thailand does not consist only of the Similand islands. Also around Phuket you can make beautiful dives. Drop offs, small underwater caves, rock formations and coral gardens can all be encountered during dives around Phuket. Of course also lots of fish and sometimes a manta ray swims by!
Around Phuket, Shark point is one of the best dives you can do. Among the soft coral and gorgonians, it swirls with life. Sea snakes, barracudas and squid and, of course, sharks. Both the blacktip reef shark and the often resting leopard shark can be seen here.
Besides diving, of course, in Thailand you always have that great atmosphere and culture that makes the country unique. Another reason to go diving in Thailand!
