Days 1–3 | Arrival in Manila and Romblon – Start of Your Diving Adventure
Your diving vacation to the Philippines begins with an international flight to Manila, the country’s capital. After arriving at Ninoy Aquino International Airport, we’ll arrange for a comfortable overnight stay near the airport. This will give you a chance to relax and recover from your journey before your adventure begins.
The next morning, you’ll fly from Manila to Caticlan, a small airport on the island of Panay. This domestic flight takes about an hour and is the most efficient way to reach Romblon.
From Caticlan, a carefully planned transfer by car and boat will take you to Romblon. Along the way, you’ll enjoy the varied landscape and stunning ocean views. Depending on the ferry schedule and the route you choose, you’ll arrive on the island later that day.
Upon arrival, you’ll receive a warm welcome from the team at Sunset Cove Beach & Dive Resort. You’ll set foot on the tranquil, tropical Alad Island, where your diving adventure truly begins: crystal-clear waters, vibrant reefs, and a serene setting await you.
Days 4–6 | Discover diving in Romblon
Day 4: First dives around Alad Island – Discover macro life
The real diving experience begins today. Today, you’ll go on a day trip with three dives to some of the most beautiful dive sites around Alad Island. The morning starts with a dive at The Garden, a colorful spot full of lush coral reefs and tropical fish. In the afternoon, you’ll explore The Wall with two dives—an impressive drop-off where you might encounter sea turtles and reef sharks. After this action-packed day of diving, you’ll return to the resort, where you can relax and enjoy the sunset.
Day 5: Explore more dive sites on Alad Island
Today’s itinerary includes even more spectacular dive sites. You’ll dive at Coral Garden, famous for its vibrant coral reefs and rich marine life, and Alad Reef, where schools of fish and curious sea turtles welcome you. In the evening, you can go on a night dive, where you’ll discover a whole new world of nocturnal marine life, such as squid and scorpionfish. You’ll make a total of 3 dives today. This is an experience you won’t want to miss!
Day 6: Black Water Diving – A fascinating night diving adventure
After two daytime dives, the evening brings the absolute highlight of the day. You’ll go on a unique blackwater dive in Romblon, which takes place around 8 p.m. During this dive, you’ll be in open water, where special lighting attracts plankton and rare nocturnal marine life. This is a special opportunity to see bioluminescent organisms and bizarre underwater creatures, such as jellyfish and larvae. The dive takes place in the shallower waters around Romblon, making it an accessible yet breathtaking experience.
Day 7 | Day Trip to Romblon – Explore the wonders of the island
Today it’s time to explore above water. You can choose from a variety of excursions. Visit for example the iconic Romblon Windmills Take a refreshing dip in the Lipton Falls or explore the local marble industry on a tour of the marble quarries. End the day with a drink at BonBon Beach, where you can enjoy the spectacular sunset.
Days 8–10 | Diving among Romblon’s hidden gems
Day 8: Diving around Cobrador Island – The hidden gems of the Philippines
Today, you’ll dive three times around the pristine Cobrador Island, where sites like Cobrador Reef offer a wealth of marine life. Be enchanted by the rich biodiversity, featuring colorful corals, reef fish, and perhaps even sea turtles. This is a relaxing yet unforgettable day filled with diving fun.
Day 9: Diving at Logbon – Spectacular underwater landscapes
The dive sites around Logbon Island are a true delight for underwater enthusiasts. At Logbon Point, you’ll encounter spectacular corals and be surrounded by schools of parrotfish and coral divers. Each dive site offers something unique, from fascinating rock formations to a wealth of marine biodiversity. This evening, you’ll also take a guided night dive on the house reef of Sunset Cove Resort.
Day 10: The famous Blue Hole of Romblon
On Day 10, the famous Blue Hole of Romblon is on the itinerary. This dive site features a spectacular underwater cave with crystal-clear blue water and impressive rock formations. Both novice and experienced divers will enjoy the extraordinary underwater world here, where colorful fish and other unique marine creatures inhabit the cave. The Blue Hole guarantees two spectacular dives down to 30 meters.
Day 11 | Relax on Cobrador Island - A day of rest and nature
Conclude your diving vacation in the Philippines finish with a relaxing island tour to Cobrador Island, where you can enjoy the long white beaches, visit a turtle sanctuary and snorkel in the Alad Marine Sanctuary. The day ends with a delicious barbecue on the beach, as you watch the sun slowly set behind the horizon.
Day 12 and 13 | Back home - Farewell to paradise
After an unforgettable journey, it is time to say goodbye to Romblon. Very earlyVery early in the morning the crew will take you to Tablas Airport for your flight to Manila. Diving in the Galapagos Islands general information
During this diving vacation in the Philippines, you’ll go on boat dives focused primarily on macro and supermacro photography.
A 5- to 20-minute boat ride. If you’re staying at the resort, you’ll head out for a 2-tank dive and then return to the resort. In the afternoon, you’ll head out for a 1-tank dive, a night dive, or a blackwater dive.
You can go on two dives in the morning and one dive in the afternoon. At sunset, you can go on a night dive, and at 8:00 p.m., you can go on a blackwater dive.
Yes, you can go night diving and even try a glow-in-the-dark dive when you stay at the resort.
Many dive sites go down to 18 meters, so an Open Water certification is sufficient. You only need an Advanced Open Water certification for Blue Hole.
The diving school is in the resort.

Tanks with DIN and YOKE (INT) connections
Yes, they offer Nitrox blends up to 40%, while the standard blend is 32%. The price is approximately 350 PHP. CHF 6 per tank. We also offer rebreather gases and can fill tanks with 100% O2 up to 120 bar. They do not offer an O2 booster.
No, there are only 11L tanks, as dives are usually shallow between 8-15 meters, except for the Blue Hole which maxes out at about 30 meters
They offer a full set of diving equipment—BCD, regulator, wetsuit, boots, fins, and mask—for a daily rental fee of 500 PHP per person, in addition to the dive fee. A dive computer is not included.
Activities, Excursions and Wellness
Yes, guests can go snorkeling in front of the resort and at other locations around the island. We recommend having at least two people in your group or hiring a local guide who can supervise and assist you. If the snorkeler rides along on the dive boat, we charge approximately 1,000 PHP. CHF 19 per day. This also includes snorkeling gear: fins, mask, and snorkel
