The liveaboard concept is a fantastic way to really get the most out of your diving vacation. Unlike a day trip to a dive site (usually by boat), divers stay aboard a large liveaboard vessel for several days and explore different dive sites in the area. This gives divers the chance to explore different dive sites that might normally be much too far to sail for a day trip. <\/p>

Sleeping on a liveaboard in Egypt<\/h4>

Staying on a liveaboard in Egypt is very comfortable. You sleep in a cabin on the lower, main or upperdeck. Often the lower deck cabins are the cheapest. You usually share the cabin with one other diver. This can be someone you know, but if you’re traveling alone, it can also be a stranger. Most liveaboard boats have a rule that that stranger does have to be someone of the same sex. <\/p>

Northern wrecks route in Eypte <\/strong><\/h4>

The wrecks route in the northern Red Sea is probably the most famous liveaboard route in Egypt. The area is known for its many shipwrecks dating back to World War II and the era of shipping. The most famous of these wrecks is the Thistlegorm, a cargo ship sunk by a German bomb in 1941. Divers can explore the wreck of the Thistlegorm and see cargo remains, such as tanks and motorcycles, lying on the bottom. In addition to wreck diving, the wreck route also offers beautiful coral reefs and an abundance of marine life, including sharks, rays and turtles. The level of diving on this itinerary ranges from beginner to advanced.<\/p>

Brothers, Daedalus, Elphinstone – Egypt<\/strong><\/h4>

NDE stands for Brothers, Daedalus and Elphinstone, three reefs in the southern Red Sea. The reefs are famous for their abundant marine life, including sharks, dolphins, turtles and large pelagic fish. It is an area ideal for advanced divers because of the strong currents and deeper dive sites. Daedalus Reef is the most famous of the three, due to its abundance of marine life and beautiful coral formations. There are several dive spots around the reef where divers can spot large schools of tuna, barracuda and hammerhead sharks.<\/p>

St. Johns and Fury Shoals – Egypt<\/strong><\/h4>

St. Johns Reef, located in the south of Marsa Alam, is one of the most remote dive sites in the Red Sea. Here you will find the most beautiful coral reefs and pristine marine life. The reef is large enough to explore for several days, and you’ll find schools of fish, turtles, rays and sharks, among other things.<\/p>

Fury Shoals is a group of coral reefs about halfway between Marsa Alam and Hamata. One of the most remote and pristine diving areas in Egypt, it offers many dive sites such as Shaab Claude, Malahi, Gota Sataya and Wadi Gemal.
